Music Mondays: Shannon Williams Addition

Today's Music Monday is all about debuting solo artist Shannon Williams. Perhaps you remember her from her Star King days. Perhaps her Hidden Singer stint. But now, after leaving Core Contents, has finally debuted under Dap Sound. Honestly, don't have a lot of positive things to say. The song is fine, and just that it's fine. Nothing great and I know she can do way better then this. Just watch her on Hidden Singer posing as IU, she hit some great notes. It's just that this song doesn't give her a lot to work with which is disappointing. There is only a few directions she could take this song feeling wise and vocally wise. It's a perfectly adequate song for a debuting singer, however since Shannon is already known in the industry I think she deserves something better.

Daybreak Rain by Shannon Williams

The MV feels sad and saturated. Rather than listening to the song, I really enjoyed the dance that went along with the song. I like the fluidity of the moves and how its constant. Like one movement leads to the next an it flows really well together. Of course all the rain, hence the title, adds a melancholy effect to an already somber background.
