Top 10 MV's of 2014

I'll be counting down my top ten MV of 2014

10. Ga-In's Fxxk You
Such intensity. The story goes, they started off friends, filmed this MV, and turned into lovers. I know that Ga-In has really become an icon for adult-dols along with Narsha (and just BEG in general) but I though it really took balls to release this MV. It was intense, sexy, explicit, and real. The struggle between man and woman, between love and hate, there's nothing better I can say to explain this MV. If you haven't seen this yet, you really should. Everyone needs a good Fxxk You in their lives.

9. Vixx's Error
To be honest, along with G.r.8.u Error is the only song I like by Vixx. Loved the theme, loved the MV. Supper futuristic, I feel like this is gonna start a theme. The Future, can't you see it now. Anyway, the dance for Error is on a whole nother lover. Like I said before, I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Vixx, but I could watch and listen them sing and dance Error all day long. Vixx sure have gotten big. I remember those horrible Superhero days... My how they have grown. Anyway, their company is doing something right. As you go down this list you might notice not a lot of idol groups/dance MVs made the cut. What can I say, dancing and flashing lights can only take you so far...

8. Soyu and Urban Zakapa's The Space in Between
Soyu had the best year ever. Although Some was a better song (personally), The Space in Between was a better MV. Love Dasom, and bless little Baro's heart, but let's leave acting to the actors. If I am correct, the lead (Oh My Love from another Star feels) also starred in Please Don't by K.Will. He is a great MV actor. I think this story was cute easy to follow and paired with the soft voices of Soyu and Urban Zakapa the feels were real. I am pretty impressed with Starship this year, they really boosted Sistar as a whole (minus the I Swear MV controversy). Now Soyu will be a go to duo partner. Good for her. This light hearted MV sure deserves some praise.

7. B1A4'S Solo Day
Something about B1A4 always draws me back. Honestly, Lonely kinda lost me a little, but Solo Day brought me back. The cute and fun MV is the B1A4 I love. I could never tell you what is going on and why everything is happening, but watching five cute guys go from video game to running away from a UFO, there's no words you can use to explain that. But love them all the same. The flower boy hobo still throws me off but I'll roll with you B1A4. Thy are such a hardworking group of guys that I love to watch them succeed. Solo Day is a cute catchy song that sorresponds with a cute fun and funny MV perfectly representing B1A4.

6. Nicole's MAMA
Like I have stated in a previous post, Nicole's MAMA MV has such a subtleness that I am just drawn to. Everything is just so beautifully crafted from choreography to lighting to song and vocals. I think this was a great comeback for Nicole and just shows what she's always had in her. This of course does not mean I dislike Kara, it's just Nicole finally has the opportunity to show her talents without anyone holding her hand. I think this is what sexy videos should be, not just out right sticking your butt in my face or showing off more then appropriate amount of skin/cleavage. I get that sex sells, it's sometimes you have to know when too much is too much. Which is why I applaud Nicole.

5. Orange Caramel's My Copycat
I think Orange Caramel's My Copycat was the most unique MV on the year, which I applaud. The Where's Waldo theme and cleverly witty stage outfits just compliment the quirkiness of the song perfectly. I honestly think Orange Caramel is doing so much better than After School, and I love After School. I get that After School has multiple talents and different people, but if Pledis spent more time thinking up more unique concepts like this for After School I wouldn't have to complain. I loved all their comebacks with Kahi from drumming to tap dancing. Orange Caramel is such a breathe of fresh air in a sea of sexy costumes and suggestive choreo.

4. Epik High's Born Hater
I just wanna be like, Fxxk these bastards did it again! I loved Epik High's mighty comeback with Don't Hate Me. The MV was creative, fun, amazing. And then this comeback they release Born Hater and I was hook line and sinker. On first watch it may seem like a big mess and the MV is vertical. Perhaps you have read this already, but each artist actually represents the 7 deadly sins and BI (right?) is the janitor who is 'clean' and picks up after the sins. This MV, like Doom Dada, has a deeper meaning beyond the basic fanfare of lights sounds and pretty faces. Epik High is such a talented group of individuals, when you put them together it's like magic.

3. HI SUHYUN's I'm Different
Another YG you ask? That's right. No 2NE1 Come Back Home, but I'm Different had a cute school girl story of two friends crushing after the same guy. Let's forget about Bobby's car moment rapping, but Lee Hi and Suhyun togetherr is just too cute to pass up on. Their awkwardness and youth really work for them, no to mention their stellar voices. As Epik High is more geared towards YG's image, Suhyun and Akdong Musicians really bring a new image to YG which I as a fan appreciate. I love the live stages in which Lee Hi and Suhyun dress in different styles as to separate themselves as indivisuals yet work so well together. I do see the too as opposites in almost every way possible, but this MV is so cute that I couldn't pass it up. Good YG, here's my wallet, just take it.

2. Fly to the Sky's You, You, You

Let's be honest, watching this MV is like riding on a roller coaster, confusing yet so rewarding. It's like a sixteen episode melodrama squished into 7 minutes. Paired with the song and beautiful voices of Hwanhee and Brian Joo, the MV really draws you in. I literally almost cried I was so touched. I think the story is simple to follow, but the direction and time jumps, and cuts has a K.Will Please Don't feel to it. I don't wanna spoil it if you haven't watched the MV yet, but watch it all the way throw before you start asking questions. Remember, You, You, You beat out a lot of good MV's this year.

1. f(x)'s Red Light
Is my bias roaring its ugly head? But overall f(x) had an amazing comeback with Red Light album it's a shame that their comeback was cut short. This might be SM's best MV in years, and I mean it. The lighting, make-up, outfits, they all worked together and I really wanted to believe there was a story not just cool imagery. I really though SM was finally paying attention to my girls (and then they just slap me in the face). But besides all my distaste in SM, they really do know how to put on a show and Red Light was no exception. I see f(x) as SM's experimental group. Because f(x) is so diverse and able to change their image seamlessly, that makes them a top girl group. f(x) JJANG!
